My Best Tips for buying a remote collar.

Never buy from a pet store. Pet stores just sell cheap shock collars. No professional German Shepherd trainer is going to use this type of collar. If they do, run fast, and find a new trainer.

Only buy from top sellers. These companies spend a lot of money on advertising their products.

Dogtra Product line and E-Collar Technologies Product line.

These are the two best collar companies out there today! If you have not yet check out my product reviews page. You can learn more about top-selling e-collars.

If you own one dog. Then just purchased a single system.  If you own multiple dogs then it’s best to purchase a multiple dog system. You will save money this way. To add a receiver to the remote you own now normally runs 90 to $125 to upgrade, plus shipping fees. Important, not all remote collars will allow you to add additional receivers to any collar.

The average cost for a single dog system. 214.99 plus taxes and shipping.

The average cost for a two-dog system. 289.00 plus taxes and shipping.

Now, of course, this is just a base cost for you to look at. Prices will vary depending on which model you purchase. I just wanted to give you a good idea of why it’s important to purchase the right collar the first time.

Here are two collars. Dogtra collars. Addition Receiver Modules.

The remote-collar industry is growing just like the cell phone industry.

With these two companies,

It’s important to know all remote collars will have a 2-hour rapid charge.  Do not charge your remote call for more than 2 hours. If you do, you’re just going to cook the battery. The technology has grown over the past two decades. Back in the old days, we had to charge our collars for 12 hours every night. Those days are gone.

I can’t tell you how many people never read the manual. It’s important to read the manual, you will learn the importance of taking care of your collar, and understand the warranty behind the collar you purchase. For every 10 collars I sell, one person will read the manual.

This is amazing to me. Some people just don’t worry about things like that. Well if you want to get the most out of your collar. I recommend you read the manual. This way if you have a problem you call the manufacturer you’ll have a better understanding of questions they will ask you.

Manufacturer warranty for remote collars:

Information you need to know.

Here are a few questions they’ll ask:

1. How long did you charge the collar for?

2. Did you read the manual?

3. Did you make sure the electrical outlet is working that you plugged your collar into?

4. On the collar, were both plugged incorrectly with the charging port?

5. Was the collar shut off before charging? These are the most popular questions they will ask you. It is good to know.

E- collar tips for beginners, and first-time German Shepherd owners.

When should I start e-collar training?

You should never start remote collar training with a puppy under four half months of age. Your puppy is just too young. You should do all your foundation leash training commands first. Once your dog is doing good with all the basic foundation training commands, and you want to use the e-collar for training off-leash control.

Remote collar tips for using a collar on your dog:

These are the most popular questions people ask me all the time.

1. Does my dog have to wear the e-collar all the time?  They should be wearing the collar when you are training them, whether your training outside or inside the house.

2. Never leave the remote collar on your dog when you’re not there to supervise them.  it’s not going to do you any good anyway.

3. Don’t just use the collar to correct your dog every time it does something wrong.  Your dog is a lot smarter than you think, and I know when you put a training tool on them.

4. If you do not have the experience to use a remote collar?  I recommend you hire professionals to teach you.

5. Don’t leave your dog in a fenced-in yard with a remote collar or any other collar on them unless you’re there to supervise them. It only takes a split second for the dog to get caught on something.  We don’t want our dog to get hurt.

6. Put the collar on your dog 10 minutes before you go out to train with them.  You never want to put a tool on a dog and start using it right away. Have you ever heard someone say, If you use an e-collar to train your dog, it will only listen to you when the collar is on? That’s not true at all. Dogs act differently because of the way people use the tool.

7. Can you use a remote collar and water? Yes, as long as it is waterproof it’s okay.

If you use the remote collar and salt water make sure you wash it off with fresh water afterward.  If you don’t want the saltwater to ruin and destroy your collar.

8. Always use low levels of stimulation when training your dog.  If you’re not familiar with electrical stimulation, you can learn more about it with this article. The remote collars that are being built today, come as close to what stimulation and physical Therapy used on humans, not like a shock collar.

9. Always teach the commands to your dog, before you use a remote collar.

10. Never leave the collar on your dog for more than 6 hours per day. You need to give the dog’s neck a break.

Remember, The remote collars are not used for punishing your dog. When done the correct way, it is used as a communication device, not punishment. If you still need more info. I recommend reading the reviews on Amazon, by clicking on the links below.
